Guild towers affiliated to the Mid-Devon Branch are ranged along the English Riviera, from Dawlish in the north to Brixham in the south and west from the coast to Bovey Tracey and Berry Pomeroy. We currently have 13 member towers and a ringing membership of around 80. Our programme of events is designed to give members and visitors a regular opportunity to practise change ringing on 6,8 and 10 bells. We also organise regular training events, social events and regular outings taking us further afield. All abilities are catered for, from rounds and call changes up to surprise major. We have several experienced ringing teachers in the branch who are delighted to help learners and novices. Please contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. The branch maintains a comprehensive library including educational materials and members are encouraged to borrow items as often as they wish.
We are a friendly group and make a point of publicly celebrating the achievements of our members, such as when someone rings their first peal, quarter or when a Guild certificate can be awarded. This would normally happen at our AGM which takes place in November each year. Our members are kept up to date with branch matters and ringing related news via our branch newsletter Tower Talk and an email list. We are particularly pleased to hear from lapsed ringers and anyone who is interested in returning to ringing following the recent pandemic. Most of our branch towers have a regular practice night, details of which can be found under the 'Towers' tab, but please check before travelling.
