The North East Branch covers the Tiverton and Cullompton Deaneries which sit in the beautiful Culm and Exe Valleys extending northwards and eastwards to the boundary with Somerset and the edge of Exmoor and consists of 20 affiliated towers. Many of our members support the non-affiliated towers in the area. The Branch also has links with nearby Somerset towers and enjoys organised ringing with them too.
Most towers practice each week, some pool resources and many members are out a number of nights a week supporting other practices.
We arrange a varied calendar of events which are complimented by a number of organised occasions arranged by individual towers and by the Troyte Ringing Centre. Practices and social occasions are well attended and we also enjoy joint practices with other nearby Branches.
Many members support Branch activities and fellow towers in the area expanding the opportunities to develop ringing skills in addition to supporting the local hostelries in the good company of other ringers. A newly formed Ringing Teachers Support Group in which ringing experiences are shared and best practice is promoted has been well attended by Branch members. Notes from these meetings and useful aids in ringing development can be found here: Inaugural Meeting and Getting Started. If you are visiting the area, please come along to a practice or two and support Sunday ringing; we would be delighted to see you.
