The Guild Striking Competitions are held on the third Saturday of October every year.

In the morning are the two 6-bell competitions. These usually run concurrently but pre-booked time slots allow the same team to enter both competitions:

Inter-tower competition for the J P Fidler Cup
240-300 changes of any Doubles or Minor method, including plain courses (but not plain hunt)

Inter-tower novice competition for the John Longridge Plate
180 changes of Plain Hunt Doubles or Minor

In the afternoon the 8-bell competition takes place. This is an inter-branch competition for the Andrews trophy. The order of ringing will be decided by a draw. All teams must ring one of the specified methods (one simple, one more complicated) which is decided at the Guild Committee Meeting held in January.
