Laira: 6 bell competition for JP Fidler Cup

2pm : introduction to judging a striking competition (open to all Guild members)

During the afternoon we are also offering members the chance to develop listening skills and find out about what is involved in judging a striking contest.

We are delighted that Tim Bayton (Guild Education Officer) has agreed to facilitate this opportunity, which will begin with an introductory talk at 2pm. Tim will describe some things you might listen for, offer tips on making constructive observations, and introduce various systems you might employ to assess the accuracy of the striking.

There will then be an opportunity to listen to performances of the teams competing in the inter-tower striking contest, and to have a go at marking and taking notes on them - with no pressure. In a relaxed and sociable format, members of competing teams will also be able to have a go at assessing one another's performances and reviewing their own.

2.30pm : draw for order of ringing
