Mid-Devon Tower Talk (Extra) - April 21

Martin Dodd Funeral Wednesday 28th April – update from Julia Brett

As you know, mourners attending inside the church are limited to 30 people. However, it would be lovely if ringers and friends felt able to gather outside St Michael the Archangel, in the area near the South Door, or the sea front area. In a sense, this is would be a tribute to Martin and something which Ann and the family would find that comforting and welcoming. The service is 12.15 on Wednesday 28th. We will toll for Martin. If you do not spot me outside at first it may be because I will be counting strikes!

As reported previously, Martin requested no flowers. However, Ann has requested that, should friends wish, they might want to make a donation to the Teignmouth Bells Project. Ann has requested that tributes and donations can be left on the website of J H Way Funeral Directors. Ann has suggested the Teignmouth Bells Project, as a cause so close to Martin's heart, and indeed, us all. If anyone should want to leave a tribute or donation then Google the J H Way site and go into tributes and donations, and scroll down until you find Martin's name.
Thanks Julia

Recovery and Return Exercises

Are you missing your regular workout in the Tower? Do you think you might feel a little out of condition when we finally return?
Retired Physio, Catherine Saunders has put together a few(!!) exercises to get you prepared for the big day
Please read the instructions carefully before trying them

Perhaps we need to point out that the gender of the model for many of the exercises does not mean that men should not do them – sorry Rodney, good try!!!

Branch Training sessions following return

Once we have more information about when and under what conditions we can return, the branch is planning training in raising and lowering and basic methods (two different sessions). Nigel Birt is preparing a list of experienced ringers who are willing to help with these. At present we have September pencilled in for the first one but we will have to firm up any dates once we know what we are allowed to do. Please let Nigel know if you are willing to help This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We also intend re starting the popular bell handling clinics held at St Marychurch but possibly at another tower(s) as well.
