Raising and Lowering training morning 3rd September at East Ogwell

Branch Outing – with a difference Saturday 1st October – the Avocet Line

In the past we have had train outings but not for quite some time. At the branch committee meeting last week it was decided to have one again. Finding a route with regular trains can be difficult so the Avocet line to Exmouth was decided upon. Trains run regularly from Paignton to Exmouth with calls at stations on the way and a programme has been devised to take in a number of towers on the line with reasonable access – approximately 10 minute walk or less. A full programme will be published once we have all the towers booked. A return ticket should be less than £10. Please support this outing – should be a great day!

Branch 8 bell practice Dawlish Wed 14th September

We always get a warm welcome at Dawlish so we are looking forward to joining the regular practice for an evening of, mainly, 8 bell ringing. Special method Bristol Surprise Major. Please try and get there if you can – 7.30 until 9.00pm

Guild Striking Competitions – Dawlish Saturday 15 October 2022

The Mid Devon Branch are hosts for this competition this year. There are 4 different ones – 6 bell inter tower, Novice 6 and 8 bell and the inter branch 8 bell. The Dawlish ringers will be providing refreshments and would be grateful for any help either on the day or providing cakes to sell to the ringers. We are hoping to provide other attractions on the day – these will be advertised in the Guild publicity for the event. A survey has been sent round to test interest and work out what ringers feel about the festival. Please consider filling one in. Look forward to seeing you on the day.
