Traction Engine ActionWelcome to our branch, which is comprised of 13 towers and about 90 members ranging in age from pre-teens to octogenarians. In geographical terms a large area is covered, from the Exeter city towers in the east to Hatherleigh in the west. This makes it a little difficult to meet up at a central focal point, but we try hard to be all-embracing by holding a branch practice at most of the affiliated towers during the year. We also maintain a branch email list for keeping in touch and circulating important information.

The whole spectrum of ringing is covered within the branch: from learner and Devon call change bands through to a band capable of ringing Spliced Surprise Maximus at Exeter Cathedral, and everything in between! Please do ask if you want to know more.

We also enjoy a range of social and semi-social activities throughout the year:

  • Skittles and supper evening
  • Branch outing, with plenty of trains/walking/ringing. If steam trains are involved, then so much the better!
  • Summer barbecue – again, steam/traction engines often feature at this event!
  • Bonfire and firework evening (hosted for more years than they care to remember by two long-suffering branch members with a large garden)

We hope that the above will whet your appetite, but if you would like to know more, then please do not hesitate to make contact with the Branch Secretary.
