Coronavirus - COVID 19

The news that all gatherings should cease ASAP was heard a little too late to cancel the practice at Stokeinteignhead and a short final ring was held with very strict infection precautions. A variety of short touches were rung including Reverse Canterbury and Westminster ll Doubles and Kent Little Bob Minor before getting the bells down for one final time until..........??

As you will all be too well aware we are now in a time of unprecedented enforced inactivity in ringing. The much anticipated, branch visit to Kingskerswell was cancelled and all ringing nationally has pretty well ceased (along, of course with the church services we usually ring for). Much thought is being put into safe ways of keeping in touch with each other and we hope to continue to bring out Tower Talk – but.. it will rely on articles and news being sent in.

We end with a response sent by Preb John Good on the news of the cessation of ringing at Stokeinteignhead
"We are in challenging times, and especially for
clergy and congregations no longer able to worship together;
and for ringers for whom practice night and Sunday ringing
are part of their ministry in the life of the Church.

I am sure we would want to remember each other
in moments of quiet, and prayer;
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in your comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord."
