The 2nd John Scott 10-bell call
change competition took place on 19th February at St Mark’s,
Exeter. Organised by the Devon Ringers’ Council, this
competition brings together ringers of both call change and
method traditions.

James, Nigel & Tim ringing handbells;
Lesley & Janet providing refreshments
The previous entry of five teams
was increased to eight this year. The draw took place at 10.30
and the ringing proceeded promptly thereafter, with refreshments
served throughout. Handbells made an appearance at the far end
of the church, bringing together several who hadn’t rung
together before, while others listened to the ringing outside.

Ian Avery introduces the judges Mervyn
and Mary;
Janet receives the winning certificate
from Lynne
Mary Mears and Mervyn Way kindly
judged for us again. Traffic noise proved a bit of a problem at
the location but nevertheless the judges did a professional job,
and presented the results.
