100th
peal at Pinhoe.
Saturday 15 January 2005.
The loss of
a peal attempt of Stedman Triples to celebrate local Pinhoe ringer
Jack James' 90th birthday in 2002 was the driving force behind
ringing Stedman for the 100th peal. Both Rob Franklin and Janine
Orchard had stood in that earlier attempt and we very keen to put
the record straight and ring their first peal of Stedman.
The peal
itself was very well rung and fairly uneventful. A few forgotten
"last whole turns" were quickly corrected and the peal
duly came round after 2h42. The 100th peal on the full 8 bells
isn't that far away...
Remember: A
peal of Stedman Triples is worth fifty of Surprise Maximus!!
