Handbell Days 2013
Devon Handbell Afternoons

For the past four years we have held a 'handbells for all' day in Devon, but by last year it was getting so popular that there were too many people to receive a decent go. So this year we are having three sessions, and the first two of these have already taken place.

'Plain Bob' afternoon

The first session was on 23rd February, when several people attended a 'Starting Off and Plain Hunt' afternoon hosted by the Sparlings in Crediton, and more were on a waiting list! Some good progress was made. More recently, on 24th March, the 'Plain Bob' afternoon was hosted by Mischa Thompson in Okehampton, with the ringing organised by Tim Bayton. Tim had worked out a detailed plan, and four groups were ringing nearly all the time. Again, some very good progress was made and a couple of quarter peals are being organised as a follow-up. Thank you to all hosts and helpers.

Look out for 12th October, when 'Treble Bob and Surprise' will be tackled in Dawlish!
