Guild
Annual General Meeting.
Saturday 29 June 2002.
The
AGM for 2002 was hosted by the South West branch and based in
Plympton. The day got off to a good start with open ringing at St
Mary's ranging from Rounds and Call Changes through to Stedman
Triples and Yorkshire S Major.
The primary
school next to the church was our base for the afternoon, and
after registration James Clarke (Guild Bells Advisor) kicked the
events off with a short talk. The meeting itself followed, with
much discussion about the new Devon Ringers' Council, the various
competitions and obtaining insurance for Guild members.

The new
Guild Master, Fergus Stracey (left), receives the Master's Badge from
Mike Rose.
The
afternoon workshops covered all abilities from Doubles up to
Spliced Surprise Major at various towers around the Plymouth area. There was also a session on
handbells (in one of the school classrooms!).

We then
moved onto St Andrew's Plymouth, for a short service followed by a
buffet supper laid on by the SW branch members. Evening ringing on
the recently rehung 10 at St Andrews was well attended, catering
for all abilities. Some people then retired to the pub to finish
off an excellent day.
